Winter Time

…and that heralds the unofficial beginning of cold and flu season. There is debate about why this time of the year is associated with a spike in the incidence of colds. We theorize that a combination of fluctuating temperatures, coupled with a (sometimes marked) increase in sugar consumption from Halloween candy has a negative impact on our immune systems, leaving us more vulnerable to infection.

Remember that the trace mineral zinc is an excellent anti-viral agent. It is available in a tasty lozenge and is also abundant in the following foods:
oysters, king crab, beef, turkey, lamb, pork, chicken, wheat germ, cashews, almonds, beans
In addition, remember that frequent hand washing with plenty of soap is a good infection deterrent. We also recommend that you drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily.
